Breeds of the World Showcase - Royal Melbourne Show
The Highland Pony Society participated in a Breeds Expo at the recent Summer Royal Horse show at Werribee Park, Victoria.
We had a fantastic booth set up and ponies on display for both the Friday and Saturday of the show. Unfortunately Friday was a scorching hot day of 40c+ temperatures, not really the ideal weather for people to browse through horse exhibits!
On the Friday, Melanie MacLachlan & Jan Gallagher brought along Harkaway Lodge Hawthorn their lovely grey gelding to be on display. He caught many admiring comments from passers by. Marie & Richard Bertram and their baby Skye (who was sooooo good), manned the booth for the day.
On Saturday Lesley McKay brought CroftCnoc Chloe, a mouse dun mare for display. Again she attracted favourable comments and her lovely colour drew attention.
Faye Clements, Jenny Brophy and Anna Thirkell manned the stand for the day. The booth looked fantastic, decorated with tartan material, lots of pictures of Highlands doing their thing and out in the natural environment and merchandise for sale.
