Ballinton Islay Bruar's first show

Here are some pics taken at the NHAG annual Fun Day and Performance Show of Allira and Bruar as Ayla and Whinnie from the Valley of the Horses novel (first girl to tame a horse in Neolithic times.)
We felted the skirt using raw wool and Bruar's combings from winter, in Tenterfield! Worked very well. I made her a necklace out of bones from the chook yard and some other bits and pieces including Bruar's breastplate, goat horn and chicken bones etc. The staff was already at my place so we added a few things to it as well. Allira had a genuine stone axe to throw in too. They looked awesome and won the open costume class. They won a trophy and blue ribbon.
Bruar is gong well and Allira is riding him in a bitless bridle for now. She has ridden him in a bit and bridle also. He is such a lovely boy and very calm but also has a sense of curiosity. He and Campbell travel well together in the float and have bonded really well.
