Monty as he is known was purchased at six months old from Mrs Heather Ronald from Barrymoor Highland Stud. He started his show career as a yearling and continued on for many more.
He is a pony with a super quiet nature and temperament and his colour was popular with many who saw him.
After an extremely successful show career in hand and under saddle, I joined the Horse Riding Clubs Association of Victoria and started to compete in all Olympic disciplines including jumping, dressage and horse trials. He excelled in all especially the One Day Events as his rider was not so brave and he made the job much easier. We climbed up the ranks of HRCAV starting at level four dressage and after just a few years reached and competed successfully at level one, which in those days was the highest level to achieve.
Monty is now retired and we use him as a baby sitter for our young highland ponies and foals.
He is a very special pony and will be a treasured family member for many years to come.
